- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons cornflour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for deep frying
Equipment
- Mixing bowl
- Deep frying pan
- Slotted spoon
Method
- In a mixing bowl, add boiled and mashed potatoes, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, salt, ginger paste, garlic paste, and cornflour. Mix well until all the spices are well combined.
- Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Repeat until all the mixture has been used up.
- Roll the potato balls in breadcrumbs until they are coated evenly.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the potato balls and fry until they turn golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the balls from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Repeat until all the balls have been fried.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Make sure the oil is hot before adding the potato balls to it. If the oil is not hot enough, the balls will absorb excess oil and become soggy.
- You can adjust the amount of spices according to your preference.
- You can also add chopped onions and green chilies to the mixture for an extra kick.
