Method

The method to make sweet potato gulab jamun is as follows: 1. In a mixing bowl, add the mashed sweet potato and khoya. Mix well. 2. Add all-purpose flour, baking powder, and cardamom powder. Mix well to form a dough. 3. Make small balls out of the dough and keep aside. 4. Heat oil in a kadai or deep frying pan. 5. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to low and add the sweet potato balls to the oil. 6. Fry the balls on low heat until they turn golden brown. 7. Once done, remove the balls from the oil and keep them on a plate. 8. In a small pot, add sugar and water. 9. Add saffron strands and rose water to the pot. 10. Cook the sugar syrup on medium heat until it thickens. 11. Once the sugar syrup thickens, turn off the heat. 12. Add the fried sweet potato balls to the sugar syrup. 13. Let the balls soak in the sugar syrup for at least 30 minutes. 14. Serve the sweet potato gulab jamun hot or cold.

- Make sure the sweet potato is boiled and mashed properly to avoid lumps in the dough. - Fry the balls on low heat to avoid them from getting burnt. - Do not overcrowd the kadai or deep frying pan with too many sweet potato balls. - Make sure the sugar syrup is thick enough to coat the sweet potato balls.
