Method:
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into small cubes and set them aside.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
- When the seeds start spluttering, add chopped onions and slit green chilies. Saute until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well and saute for a minute.
- Add potato cubes and salt. Mix well.
- Add 1 cup of water and mix well.
- Cover and pressure cook for 2-3 whistles or until the potatoes are cooked.
- Once the pressure releases, open the lid and cook on medium flame for 5-10 minutes or until the gravy thickens.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
Notes:
- You can adjust the spice level according to your taste.
- You can also add vegetables like carrots and peas to the dish.
- You can skip the pressure cooker and cook the potatoes in a pan. It will take longer, but the result will be similar.
